Wednesday 11th April - seeing the countryside (all 3 of them)

(8.30am)
As if staying another night in Barcelona wasn't enough (not that we don't like Barcelona, but when you expect to be on a night train to Zurich and you're not, I think it's only fair that you get a bit upset), we started the day with a power cut. Luckily we had both set alarms on our cell phones so that we didn't miss another train. I had actually set 6 alarms a minute apart just in case! However, I had been awake since 4am, probably too scared of missing the train. Having a shower in almost darkness was a challenge, as was packing. Luckily the lifts still worked; I think Justin has more than earned his keep by lugging my suitcases up and down stairs at great speeds. Remembering that I hadn't written my postcards for Barcelona, I quickly did it in the hotel lobby and they kindly offered to post them for me. Things were looking up.

Heading to the station we decided that a chicken roll (polls sandwiche) was healthier that the McDonalds we managed to order last night.

(2.05pm)
Right now we are on the train from Valence (France) to Geneva (Switzerland). We've travelled from Barcelona to Figueres (Spain), and Figueres (Spain) to Valence (France).

I'm almost thinking of changing the blog's name to 'The Amazing Race - Robinson Style'.
